Atheno is designed with privacy as a core principle.
We do NOT collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data.
All data created by the App (including Return Points, notes, timestamps, and application state information) is stored locally on your Mac device.
We do not operate servers. We do not use analytics tracking. We do not use advertising SDKs. We do not track your activity.
2. Local Data Storage
All information generated by Atheno remains on your device. This may include:
- Return Point titles and notes
- Timestamps
- Window and application metadata (if enabled)
- User preferences
This information is stored using macOS local storage mechanisms and is never transmitted externally.
If you delete the App, associated local data may also be removed depending on your system settings.
3. macOS Permissions
To provide its functionality, Atheno may request certain macOS system permissions.
Accessibility Permission: Used to detect and restore application windows when creating or restoring Return Points.
Screen Recording Permission (if applicable): Used only to identify visible windows and applications in order to restore workspace state. Atheno does not record, store, or transmit screen content.
These permissions are used strictly for functionality and never for tracking or data collection.
4. Internet Access
Atheno does not require an internet connection to function. The App does not transmit user data to any remote servers.
5. In-App Purchases
Atheno may offer a one-time purchase to unlock Pro features.
Purchases are securely processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information.
6. Crash Reports (If Applicable)
If you choose to share crash reports with Apple, Apple may provide anonymized diagnostic information to help improve the App.
We do not collect identifiable crash analytics independently.
7. Children's Privacy
Atheno does not knowingly collect or process personal data from anyone, including children under 13.
8. Data Security
Since all data remains on your device and is not transmitted externally, you retain full control over your information.
We recommend using macOS security features such as FileVault to protect your data.
9. Your Rights
Because we do not collect or store personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, modify, export, or delete.
All App data can be removed by deleting the App from your device.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the “Last Updated” date.
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
